You may not know the identity of the signer upon the transaction creation. Therefore, you may add an unknown signer to your transaction and assign him/her a co-editor. The assigned co-editor needs then to fill the unknown signer requested information (email, full name, phone number).
An unknown participant is identified by his/her designation and a description. The designation is a way to temporarily tag the unknown participant until the editor fills his/her information.
Assign an unknown participant
When you create a field, you need to assign it an unknown participant by defining his/her designation.
Define required information
When you access the unknown participant’s parameters, you can:
- Update the designation (250 characters max).
- Add a description (250 characters max).
- Define the required information.
- Assign a co-editor.
Add a co-editor
If a co-editor is assigned, s/he must fill the unknown participant’s required information.
Note that the co-editor can also be known or unknown. However, you need to have at least one known co-editor to complete the transaction process. If a transaction contains an unknown participant with no assigned known co-editor, it will be stalled once the unknown participant action is ready to be performed.
