You may need your participant to authenticate before s/he can sign transaction documents. We currently support 3 use cases:
- authentication with SMS OTP,
- authentication by email,
- signature without authentication.
Authentication with an SMS OTP
In case you allow authentication with SMS OTP, select the country code and enter the participant phone number. Then, choose among the following options:
- Allow Universign or the signer to use a different phone number that might be more appropriate.
- Allow Universign or the signer to use a different phone number only for advanced signatures (we will always use the phone number defined on your side if the signature is simple).
- Do not allow Universign or the signer to use a different phone number that might be more appropriate.

Authentication by email
Before requesting an authentication with an email OTP, ensure that the Email authentication feature is activated on your workspace.
Note that authentication by email is available only for simple signatures.
Signature without authentication
Before requesting the participant to sign without authentication, ensure that the Signature without authentication feature is activated on your workspace.
