We currently support three levels of signature:
- Simple signature without authentication (depends on your workspace entitlements),
- Simple signature,
- Advanced signature with a certificate,
- Advanced signature with a qualified certificate (depends on your workspace entitlements),
- Qualified signature (depends on your workspace entitlements).
By default, the Means of authentication parameter is activated, which means that the participant will sign with an OTP authentication.
Note that before you request a simple signature without authentication or an advanced signature with a qualified certificate, ensure with us that this option is activated on your workspace.
To sign a document with a simple signature, a signature certificate is not required from the participant.
To perform an advanced or a qualified signature, the participant needs a certificate. If the participant does not own any, Universign will create one after a remote verification of the participant’s identity, directly within the transaction workflow.
For more details about advanced and qualified signature processes, visit Sign with a certificate, Sign with a qualified certificate and Perform a qualified signature.
